kindness. Stone Creek Zen Center welcomes all who are interested in
this meditative exploration of who you are and how best to
live.
Our community members come from all walks of life. We share in a wide range of activities that allow each person to find a gate to their own Zen practice.

"The thing I liked the most when I first came to Stone Creek Zen Center was how accepted I felt" - Cherrone
The Zen Center
Stone
Creek Zen Center is a Buddhist practice center dedicated to the dharma
teachings of awakening to reality and living compassionately in this impermanent, interdependent world. The
core activity at the center is zazen, or wholehearted sitting here and now. Our
Sangha community extends their practice throughout their lives, living consciously as part of the interconnected web of beings supporting each other's lives.
Our Programs
All programs are open to the public.
We
offer many gates to Zen practice, and we invite you to join us in ways
that work for your life and schedule. Our members practice at the center
and at home during the ordinary activities of daily life. We are easy
to get to know.
Some of our offerings:
Zazen, Study Groups, Family Practice, Community Days, Personal
Interviews with Jisho Roshi, Dharma Talks, Retreats, and Weddings and
Funerals.
Introduction to Zen Practice
Instruction in zazen (Zen sitting meditation) and an introduction to practicing Zen are offered on the first Saturday of each month from 9:00 to 10:00 am. There is no fee, and it is not necessary to pre-register. Just come, try it, and feel free to ask questions. Sitting cushions and chairs are provided.
 Jisho Warner Roshi, Our Teacher
The head of our center is Jisho Warner, a Buddhist priest and Zen teacher in the Soto Zen School. Warner Roshi trained in the United States under Tozen Akiyama and Dainin Katagiri Roshis, and in Japan under Shundo Aoyama Roshi. She received authorization to teach and dharma transmission from Tozen Akiyama Roshi.
Jisho is known for her combination of warmth and intelligence, and for her humor, kindness, and genuineness. She leads zazen, services, and retreats (sesshins), gives dharma talks to the community, and is available for individual meetings.
