Zen in Health Care: Giving and Receiving Training

Using Mindfulness and Qigong practices in clinical setting.

You are invited to attend ongoing workshops specifically designed for medical and behavioral health professionals. Come and learn how to counteract stress, prevent burn-out and improve compassion in a collegial and supportive environment.

We will practice silent meditation and Qigong techniques and have lively discussions and instruction about practical ways of using mindfulness at work and in our daily lives.

 

Open to anyone working in medicine and mental health.

CE credits offered to nurses, psychologists, ,LCSW, , MFT, ,LPCC, and LEPs.

Teachers:

Edmee Danan, MD is a psychiatrist -psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience.  Edmee has worked at Sonoma County Psychiatric Emergency Services, had a private practice, and is currently a consulting psychiatrist with West County Health Centers and Santa Rosa Community Health.  Edmee has practiced Zen since 1981 and is a practice leader at Stone Creek Zen Center.

Ilka de Gast, PSyD is a psychologist who specializes in body centered therapy and mindfulness. Ilka is a Certified Level Two Instructor of Wisdom Healing Qigong, a form of Qigong form the lineage of Dr Pang Ming, as taught by Master Mingtong Gu. Ilka works at Santa Rosa Community Health as a psychologist and teaches Qigong to patients and to medical health providers.
